**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, you will drive the strategy and performance of the Specialty Products and Portfolio and provide technical product expertise across multiple lines of business within the portfolio. The role will lead the Specialty team to deliver on the AAL customer value proposition and foster a high performing culture where people and performance matter.

**Other key aspects of the role**:

- Conduct initial feasibility studies for new or modified products, advising Divisional Chief General Managers and consulting with other internal stakeholders on initiation and proof of concept activities;
- Lead the analysis, design, build and testing of proposed new products or modifications to existing products;
- Approve new products for distribution to customers, modifications to existing products and the termination of products;
- Lead the preparation of product disclosure statements and other product literature, undertaking product due diligence, consulting with Legal and Distribution teams in relation to the review of product documentation;
- Define and implement a Specialty Product and Portfolio strategy that enables the development of a new and existing products which meet the changing needs of customers, incorporating the voice of the customer, and which are driven by customer metrics and adhere to product and pricing governance frameworks.
- Deliver growth and profitability targets for the customer segment, providing regular reporting and presentations.
- Identify, analyse and provide recommendations to target profitable growth in key customer segments and manage underwriting risks within the AAL risk appetite.
- Drive the simplification of product design across the segment, focussing on good customer outcomes.
- Work closely with underwriting agencies to ensure performance and Allianz strategic goals are delivered

**Important to your success**:

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/ or industry recognised accreditation.
- Extensive portfolio management experience in a senior management role for a complex, matrixed financial services organisation.
- Deep technical experience in managing commercial insurance products.
- Comprehensive knowledge of products, industry practices and governing legislation.
- Expert, strategic, tactical selling and relationship management capability.
