**About the Business Unit**:
Located across the NWMA are twelve non-custodial locations in Carlton, Broadmeadows, Reservoir, Heidelberg, South Morang, Melton, Sunshine, Werribee, Derrimut and Thomastown, plus the Neighbourhood Justice Centre in Collingwood, and the Court Services Unit at the Melbourne Magistrates Court. There are four youth justice office locations in Fitzroy, Footscray, Preston and Sunshine. There are four custodial locations: maximum security prisons Metropolitan Remand Centre, Dame Phyllis Frost Centre and Melbourne Assessment Prison and the minimum security Judy Lazarus Transition Centre.
**About the Role**:
The Justice Officer is an entry-level position to a career in corporate services in the Department's eight Regions, through which the compliance, enforcement and regulatory services are provided to the Victorian community.
**Some of your duties will include**:

- As part of the Records team, and under supervision, providing high quality services and performing all functions pertaining to prisoner records, Individual Management File (IMF) registry and prison archives at MAP (Melbourne Assessment Prison)
- Coordinating the preparation of all documentation relating to a prisoner's transfer, classification, release or court appearances and undertaking operational processes associated with the prison's bails and discharges
- Coordinating, operating and maintaining the state-wide central prison IMF registry including the creation, movement, storage and disposal of files.

- Well-developed computer literacy
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, procedures, guidelines and regulations
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the importance of maintaining accurate records and associated legal implications of documents handed down by the courts.
