**About the Role**

The role of casual deckhand - Cleveland and Redland Bay will provide exceptional customer service and assist in the safe operation, maintenance and upkeep of the vessel

Working closely with vessel crew, key duties include:

- Provide excellent customer service
- Assisting with safe daily operations of the vessel
- Identify and notify Master/Operations of safety concerns and assist with implementation to prevent incidents
- Participate and contribute to emergency response plans
- Monitor and organise vehicle/passenger loading safely and efficiently while providing clear directions to passengers
- Responsible for general maintenance and overall cleanliness of the of the vessel
- Securely moor the vessel at each pontoon, coil mooring lines neatly at the completion of each trip and inspect and splice mooring lines when required
- Carry out deck patrols during shift and ensure the vessel is protected from being damaged when in its berth
- Understand and meet the requirements detailed in the vessel’s Safety Management System, to actively participate in emergency response procedures
- Manage ticket sales and checks ensuring compliance

**Skills, Qualifications and Experience**

**Essential**
- General Purpose Hand - Certificate of Competency
- Senior First Aid Qualification and CPR
- High level of computer literacy including various software packages
- Highly developed interpersonal and solution focused skills
- Experience working effectively within and across diverse teams
- Strong and effective communication skills

**Desirable**
- Experience in the maritime transport industry preferred
- Master
