The Data Steward is responsible for the development and implementation of the enterprise Data Governance strategy for Medibank.

Under the direction of the Data Governance Manager, you will work alongside our Security, Audit, Compliance, Legal, Technology and Business teams to provide assurance of the data environment and associated controls.

**Your impact**:

- Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders, ensuring they receive, understand, and drive policy directives and mandates
- Interpret policy requirements with a view to uplifting relevant Data Governance frameworks, policies, standards, and processes
- Responsibility for the development and future direction of data governance tooling requirements covering core capabilities of the information lifecycle
- Mentor business data users and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the range of stewardship activities and responsibilities

**Who are you?**
- An experienced Data Steward, you have proven experience building data governance frameworks and have a good working knowledge of the information lifecycle.
- Experience with data analysis/interpretation methodology and techniques and a comprehensive understanding of the importance and impact of data (or bad data) on the business’ ability to meet objectives
- You know what to say, and more importantly how to say it. You're comfortable talking across all levels of an organisation and can build consensus across your team to achieve goals.
- Solid project management skills to monitor and guide the direction of data governance capability improvement projects
