**About Us**:
The South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) is responsible for protecting the South Australian community from the effects of fire, road crashes, chemical incidents and other emergencies. We are a team of approximately 1,300 operational personnel and corporate professionals serving the Community across 20 metropolitan and 17 regional fire stations.

**About the role**:
The MFS is seeking a reliable and hands-on General Hand to join the Learning and Development Department at the Angle Park Training Centre. This role provides essential support to the MFS’s operational training functions by ensuring training facilities, equipment, and grounds are well-maintained, clean, and safe.

**About you**:
To succeed in this role, you will be a self-motivated individual with strong practical and problem-solving skills. You will take pride in your work and have the ability to manage a wide range of physical and logístical tasks efficiently. You will enjoy working as part of a team, have good communication skills, and be flexible in your approach to support changing priorities within a dynamic training environment. You will have:

- A current Heavy Rigid (HR) driver’s licence, forklift licence, and a valid First Aid Certificate.
- Experience in grounds and facilities maintenance, including basic repairs, gardening, and using hand and power tools.
- The ability to safely lift and handle equipment, with a sound understanding of safe work practices.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel) and basic record keeping.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with staff, contractors, and suppliers.
- A flexible and proactive attitude, with a willingness to assist in a variety of duties to support the training team.
