**About the role - Permanent Full Time**

The In-House Practitioner plays a key leadership role in providing therapeutic care and a safe, home-like environment for children and young people, in alignment with Baptist Care SA’s practice framework. Based within the residential home, the In-House Practitioner leads, supports, and mentors a team of Child and Youth Support Workers to ensure the daily care and therapeutic needs of each child or young person are met. This role is central to fostering a nurturing, stable environment that promotes healing, development, and wellbeing.
- Key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:_
- Provide therapeutic care and maintain a safe, supportive, home-like environment for children and young people.
- Lead, mentor, and guide a team of Child and Youth Support Workers to deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care.
- Oversee daily operations, including care planning, rostering, reporting, and ensuring compliance with practice standards.

**About you**:
You are a calm, caring leader who builds strong, respectful relationships and supports teams through daily challenges. You bring a trauma-informed, child-centred approach and create safe, nurturing spaces where young people feel at home. You’re organised, adaptable, and confident balancing care and operational tasks.
- You will also have the following skills and experience: _
- A minimum of Cert IV in Youth Work, Community Services, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, or Disability (in conjunction with relevant experience).
- Experience working with children and young people with complex needs and trauma backgrounds.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and database management.
