- Bechtel is providing a wide variety project and contract management services, crossing all disciplines, to customers in Western Australia to support exciting capital works programmes, including in aviation, defence and energy infrastructure. We are looking for people to join us in a long-term relationship to deliver these services in and around Perth where we are working within integrated teams with our customers and to help build Bechtel’s capabilities for even greater opportunities in the future.

**Job Summary**:
In this role, you will provide knowledge, expertise, input, training, and consultative support for the fire systems commissioning and startup within the facility. You will support the planning and coordination of fire related systems to ensure that the systems meet with the relevant codes and expectations of relevant local authorities. You will be an essential resource for specialized technical advice from design, through construction and commissioning and obtaining the relevant local authority certification.

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Provides knowledge and expertise in fire and public safety systems
- Coordinate with the local fire authority and support the compliance with local standards and practices.
- Engage with engineering to review and comment on fire systems designs
- Analyzes assigned activities to determine the scope, time, and resource requirements
- Participates in Construction to CSU turnover walkdowns and local authority walkdowns for assigned areas of responsibility
- Interfaces with the Field Engineer as required to support component/system turnover
- Assists other Startup Specialists in interpreting design information, specifications, codes, and regulatory requirements
- Performs and/or monitors testing of equipment to assure conformance with specifications and compliance with test procedures, that work methods are undertaken safely and activities are supported to meet schedule and cost
- Identifies and resolves/elevates ES&H issues in the field and is a visible 'walk the talk' leader in good ES&H practices

**Education and Experience Requirements**:

- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience

**Required Knowledge and Skills**:

- Previous experience working with Fire systems on an airport or other major infrastructure project
- Experience engaging with the local fire services authority
- Knowledge and understanding of local fire regulations and standards
- Good communication skills
