Full-time (38 hours per week)

We are currently seeking an experienced Toolmaker for manufacturing cutting dies for the cardboard packaging industry with a minimum of 3 years of work experience to join our factory team in Thomastown, Victoria.

Full-time salary: $55,000 - $67,000 + super

Salary will be negotiated based on experience and skills.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

- Read blueprints, sketches of required tools and specifications
- Utilise computer aided design and manufacturing software to create drawings
- Shape parts using a combination of hand tools and computerised equipment
- Use CNC machine tools to cut, drill and finish components
- Grind, file, adjust parts so that they fit properly together
- Test completed tools and dies to ensure that they are up to the specifications
- Maintain and repair tool-making machinery
- Analysing and identifying die design issues and setting up die trials, improving repeatability of die performance

What you will need to succeed:

- Need to be accurate, able to read and interpret engineering drawings, reliable and willing to work
- Able to identify die failure and analyse reasons for failure
- Attention to detail
- May require a physical ability test and drug and alcohol testing

**Salary**: $1,057.00 - $1,288.00 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Supplementary Pay:

- Christmas bonus
- Overtime pay
- Penalty rates

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Thomastown, VIC 3074: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
