As part of Central Coast Council's Child Care team you will have an opportunity to put your passion for preparing nutritious food to great use, looking after the development of growing children. You will have the children’s best interests at heart and facilitate respectful relationships both with colleagues and parents as you deliver delicious, varied and nutritious meals and snacks for children aged between 6 weeks and 5 years.

The Caterer position works primarily within school hours, typically between 8.30am and 1.00pm, providing a great opportunity for experienced cooks looking for the flexibility to fit in with family or other commitments.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

Council will also be creating an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other casual and part time Childcare Caterer positions across other Council Child Care Centres on the Central Coast.

**Key activities of this role include**:

- Plan, display, deliver and evaluate fortnightly menus which reflect children’s like/dislikes, individual dietary requirements, allergies and suitable food based on the developmental level of the children;
- Ensure menus meet nutritional guidelines as recommended by the NSW Health Department;
- Organise kitchen supplies and delivery for both consumable and durable goods in accordance with the annual/weekly budget under the supervision of the Centre Director;
- Champion and maintain the health, hygiene and safety standards of kitchen utensils and equipment according to statutory regulations.

**_About You:_**
- Ideally holding a TAFE Certificate of Attainment in Food Hygiene, you have solid recent experience in a similar role catering for large groups;
- You have a Safe Food Handling Certificate;
- You have a current valid Working with Children Check Clearance (or you are willing to obtain this check prior to any offer of employment);
- You are adaptable and self motivated, bringing a positive and organised approach to your work, and you enjoy being part of a lively team environment;
- Having a work/life balance is important to you.

This role provides a commencing salary range of between $26.67 to $28.50 per hour dependent on skills and experience + 10.5% superannuation.
