**Position Summary**
- Temporary part-time - 16 hours per fortnight (2 x 8 hour shifts including weekends and public holidays)
- Enjoy a supportive care role for patients in a team environment
- Assist Dietitians working within the Nutrition & Dietetics Department on menu selection for patients on therapeutic diets

**About the facility**

Our team at University Hospital Geelong consists of 20 Dietitians and 5 Dietitian Assistants. The team provides dietetics services to both inpatient and outpatients who have a range of medical needs. We work collaboratively with our team at the McKellar Centre, as well as with medical, nursing and speech pathology staff.

**About the role**

This role will provide assistance to the Dietitians working within the Nutrition & Dietetics Department of Barwon Health, including but not limited to, facilitating the process of menu selection for patients on therapeutic diets. This position is based at University Hospital Geelong but leave cover may be required at both University Hospital Geelong and the McKellar Centre sites.

Essential: Holder of a current Victorian Motor Vehicle Driver’s Licence or equivalent
Essential: Employee Working with Children Check
Desirable: Qualification in commercial food services, catering or hospitality services
Desirable: Certificate III (Allied Health Assistance) from a registered training organisation or its equivalent

Essential: Ability to work with minimum supervision
Essential: Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks
Essential: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Essential: Demonstrated ability to work in a “teamwork” model
Essential: Demonstrated customer focus & telephone skills
Essential: Flexibility in covering annual leave & sick-leave of other staff at short notice
Desirable: Previous experience with therapeutic diets
Desirable: Previous experience in institutional food service, nursing or related area
Desirable: Previous experience with computerised food service system
