**PART-TIME EXECUTIVE OFFICER ROLE**

The Architectural Practice Board of SA (APBSA) is a statutory authority responsible to the Minister for Planning for administering the Architectural Practice Act. The Act provides for the registration of architects and architectural businesses. The Board regulates architectural practice in SA to maintain high standards of competence and conduct to maintain public confidence in the profession.

Reporting to the APBSA Board, this critical leadership role will have responsibility for:

- managing the day-to-day functions, operations and activities of the Board in accordance with legislative and Board requirements;
- providing expert advice to the Board on governance, policy and procedures to ensure the effective operation of the organisation;
- overseeing the management of the organisation’s financial resources including budgets, Board finance reports and the annual financial statements and preparing the annual report;
- working with a variety of stakeholders including the Minister, government organisations, and both local and national industry bodies.

This position will suit an accomplished generalist with relevant experience ideally in a regulatory environment. Drive, energy, resilience and genuine leadership and stakeholder management capabilities will be critical personal qualities sought, along with an understanding of legislation and legal procedures. Equally important for success in the role will be high level written and oral communication skills, collaboration abilities, a strong understanding of corporate and state governance, knowledge of the commercial sector and political acumen.
