**A great opportunity now exists for an Apprentice Fitter to join our team. This role would ideally suit someone who has recently finished year 12 or in the process of doing so.**

**About the Role**

Under supervision, the Apprentice Maintenance Fitter will be involved in fitting and assembling parts and sub-assemblies made from metal and other materials for production machinery and other equipment, working from detailed drawings or specifications using hand and machine tools and precision measuring instruments.

**PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Mark the shape and dimensions of a part to be machined by studying blueprints and using measuring instruments.
- Assemble and fit machined parts using drill holes and tap threads for bolting parts together.
- Checking tightness of joints of operation of moving parts, and file or chisel parts to make final adjustment if the fit is not perfect.
- Cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
- Manufacture, repair and fault find hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
- Operate powered machines that may be manually, or computer controlled
- Inspect machinery regularly and make any adjustments or repairs need by removing any worn or damaged parts to install replacements.
- Take full accountability for personal safety and well-being, develop an understanding of risk minimisation and be committed to achieving the highest possible standards for Safety, Health and the Environment (SH&E).
- Other key accountabilities appropriate to the banding of the position as determined by the manager of the role.

**ESSENTIAL**
- Eligible for the prescribed apprenticeship with a genuine commitment to completion.
- Completed or in the process of completing Year 12.
- Intermediate to advanced mathematics skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to all safety requirements of the position.
- Possess strong problem solving skills with an eye for detail.
- Have good interpersonal and communications skills.
- Be a reliable team player who is motivated and eager to learn
