**The opportunity**

We have an exciting open term opportunity for an Analyst to join QIC’s Global Private Capital team in our Brisbane Head Office.

With offices in Australia, the US and Europe, the Global Private Capital team is responsible for investing a global portfolio of Private Equity and Venture Capital investments where activities include the continuous development of investment strategies, identification and analysis of investment opportunities and monitoring of investments in the portfolio. The primary responsibilities of the Brisbane based team include Australian direct investments specifically in respect of growth and early stage Queensland businesses, Asia Pacific Private Equity and Venture Capital funds, co-investments as well as client engagement.

As a self-motivated individual with a willingness to develop skills, you will require excellent time management and organisational skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

You will also be responsible for:

- Monitoring and analysis of the existing portfolio
- Due diligence and investment execution activities
- Performing various market research tasks and private equity industry analysis
- Assisting with presentation preparation and client-driven communications and materials
- Improving the functionality of the investment data platforms
- Demonstrated financial acumen and a keen interest in investments
- 2-5 years of professional employment in finance, accounting, law or consulting
- Business, finance, economics, or commerce degree required
- Strong Excel skills - experience with financial models
- Experience preparing powerpoint presentations to deliver research findings, client pitches or industry data
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks within deadlines
- Self starter; team player; diligent and thorough with strong attention to detail
- Intellectual curiosity
