Dementia Care Companion

Community Home Australia is an ACNC registered not for profit charity and NDIS Provider offering specialist care and services to people living with younger onset dementia in the ACT.

We operate a small non-instititional residential home (Kambera House) in Gordon, and an extended hours day program (Club Kalina) in Greenway.

We also provide 1:1 support to individuals with dementia or cognitive impairment when in hospital and requiring additional assistance to avoid the use of restrictive practices.

In return you will be provided with flexible working arrangements, above award wages, 20 days personal leave, 6 weeks annual leave and 12% superannuation. Staff eat with our guests and are provided meals which they prepare with the guests.

All staff are expected to participate in our ongoing education program which includes enrollment in the certificate of dementia care course at the University of Tasmania. You will be supported to undertake this study. You must also hold a current first aid certificate with CPR and must hold at least a certificate III in a relevant area.

All applicants must have their own ABN.
