**About the Role**:
An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Consultant within the Palliative Care Department

The successful applicant will
- Contribute to the provision of high standard clinical services to patients of and referred to the area palliative care service.
- Responsible for managing the care of patients allocated to them in collaboration with other staff including fellow Consultants, Nurses, Junior Medical Officers and Allied Health professionals of the NALHN Palliative Care Service.
- Providing supportive and educative Palliative Care services including medical services to inpatients and outpatients of NALHN including patients in community outreach programs within the NALHN catchment area.
- Contributing to and supervising staff and student development and training, policy planning and education in palliative care
- Contributing to research with in ACRPC and supporting NAPS in developing a culture of multidisciplinary research
- Contributing to the medical leadership and management of the Northern Adelaide Palliative Service to support patient care
- Contributing to and supervising the teaching of medical undergraduates and graduates which contributes to the achievement of the goals and objectives of NALHN.

Services will be provided across the NALHN and may include some visits to rural South Australia.

To be eligible for this position, you must have a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent. Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.

The Total Indicative Remuneration figure is calculated taking into account base salary, leave loading and superannuation as well as managerial allowances, professional development or any other allowances where appropriate.
