Alterations/tailor/seamstress

We are looking for an experienced tailor/seamstress to join our team at Rosemont Dry Cleaning, Alteration & Laundry.

Key responsibilities include:

- **Taking measurements**: Accurately measuring clients to determine the necessary adjustments for a garment.
- **Fitting garments**: Trying on garments on clients to identify areas needing alterations, such as length, waistline, or shoulders.
- **Altering clothing**: Making adjustments to existing garments by taking in seams, letting out seams, hemming, tailoring pants, adjusting sleeves, and repairing tears.
- **Repairing garments**: Fixing minor damages like broken zippers, loose buttons, and ripped seams.
- **Maintaining equipment**: Cleaning and maintaining sewing machines and other tools.

Required skills:

- **Sewing proficiency**: Excellent sewing skills, including knowledge of various stitch types and techniques.
- **Attention to detail**: Ability to precisely measure and make alterations with accuracy.
- **Customer service skills**: Effectively communicate with customers to understand their needs and provide clear explanations.
- **Fitting expertise**: Ability to assess garment fit and make necessary adjustments.
- **Hand-stitching skills**: Capability to perform delicate hand stitching when required.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $24.14 - $35.92 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 32 per week
