**The Opportunity**
The Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance at Monash University is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Lecturer to contribute to teaching and research in the field. The School aims to shape social change for more just, sustainable and richer futures through music performance, composition and technology, popular music, and research and scholarship. The School supports artistic research alongside other more traditional research endeavours and has a focus on Australian music.
This position requires an experienced composer with an international profile to contribute to quality teaching of Composition through unit coordination and project supervision at major honours or postgraduate level. The successful appointee will coordinate units, prepare and present lectures and/or seminars, tutorials, undertake marking, contribute to curriculum development, and supervise and examine Honours and HDR students. In this role, the Lecturer in Composition will focus on acoustic and/or electronic music creation and will have a familiarity with music technology and popular culture. The units in which they will be involved will be negotiated on appointment and will change over time.
