In this role you will deliver effective compliance with statutory legislative provisions via community liaison, education and promotion of the relevant statutory requirements
**You will be responsible for**:
- Providing ranger services information to the community and the City
- Receiving and investigating complaints and reporting accordingly
- Educating the public on issues of statutory legislation, local law and policy
- Preparing high quality reports of incidents encountered while on patrol
- Being available for after-hours actions in accordance with the City’s on call arrangements
- Issuing verbal or written cautions and or infringement notices in accordance with the City’s policies and procedures
- Preparing briefs of evidence and attending court as necessary
- Ensuring compliance with the safety policies and procedures as prescribed by the City and abide by relevant statutory safety requirements at all times
- Performing other duties as directed within the scope and level of this position
**To be successful you will have**:
- Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services), or demonstrated substantial progress towards achievement
- Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional written and investigative skills
- Experience in animal handling and husbandry skills
- Sound knowledge of ranger practices and procedures, relevant statutory legislation and local laws
- A current unrestricted C class (manual) driver’s licence
- Experience operating 4WD vehicles
- Computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office products
- A police clearance certificate (less than 6 months old)
- Senior First Aid
- Applicants must be aged 18-years or above
- As part of our recruitment process, you will be required to participate in a full pre-employment medical that includes drug and alcohol testing.
**The finer details**
This Casual Level 4 position attracts a hourly rate of $49.78 inclusive of 20% casual loading. Additional payments are available in accordance with the City’s Enterprise Agreement. We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce.
As a Ranger you are required to work on any day of the week, Monday to Sunday inclusive, between the hours of 6.00am and 10.00pm.
