Southern Cross Support Services (SCSS) is a leading Child Safety provider throughout QLD. Children, Youth & Family Services (CYF) team members play a vital role in ensuring that children and young people are offered a safe and stable environment to reach their goals. CYF work in accordance with the Sanctuary Model of Care framework.

Applicants must be able to travel to and from our office at Beenleigh for this role.

**As a Youth Worker, you may work with young people to**:

- Be a positive role model and allow children to feel safe, build resilience and work towards positive future outcomes
- Support children and young people to build positive and trusting connections with family, friends, and community
- Support children and young people to make healthy lifestyle choices, access health care services and develop strong social and interpersonal skills
- Provide outreach support to children and young people who are dis-engaged from placements
- Provide the day-to-day care of all children in the residential care setting as required
- Learn life skills in a planned and supportive way
- Provide and participate in appropriate recreational activities for and with the children

CYF programs operate 24/7 which includes shift work (sleepovers and weekends)

Requirements prior to commencement:

- Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS2)
- Hold or be willing to enrol into a Cert 4 or higher recognised qualification
- Driver’s licence (P2 minimum)
- Hope & Healing modules
- Smartphone with internet access
- CPR Certificate (willing to obtain)
