Orchard Worker

We are currently seeking 3 x experienced Fruit Farm workers to join our team.

As an orchard worker, you must have proven experience in all aspects of fruit cultivation and orchard management, from planting through to harvest.

Some knowledge of sheep handling is also desirable. The property runs 2500 breeding ewes; drenching, lamb marking and sheep handling experience would be highly beneficial for applicants.

Successful applicants must have experience in the following areas:

- Knowledge of harvest times and techniques to maintain the integrity of the crop is paramount
- Application of pesticides, herbicides and fertiliser, understanding of rates and equipment calibration.
- Experience safely operating a range of farm equipment, including tractors and spray equipment
- Pruning and training techniques according to specific guidelines
- Planting and establishment of new fruit trees to ensure maximum production.
- Knowledge of MAIT and irrigation systems to maximise and conserve water use.
- Knowledge of crop diseases and mitigation measures for disease, pests and all issues affecting crop health.
- Basic understanding of Freshcare certification requirements is preferred.
- Chemcert and Forklift tickets.
- Maintenance of farm machinery and spray equipment for daily operational safety and effectiveness.
- A strong work ethic, willing to work outdoors for extended periods of time
- Active involvement and understanding of WHS practices on farm.
- Willing to do drug and alcohol testing when requested by employer.
- Physical stamina and good time management skills
- Good communication skills and excellent ability to work within a team

Police Clearance required

Own vehicle required to travel to and from work.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $73,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
