**The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) is an independent statutory office established to protect the rights and interests of adults with impaired decision-making capacity, and children and young people in the child protection system and other visitable sites.

Key responsibilities:
Lead the development, maintenance and implementation of contemporary and innovative practice guidance that supports service delivery for clients (includes policy, procedures, tools and associated learning and development).
Develop, manage and/or oversee projects impacting on Community Visiting and Advocacy.
Understand, or can quickly acquire an understanding of, child protection, youth justice, disability, and mental health sectors, particularly in relation to regulatory and policy frameworks and service delivery.
Provide authoritative advice on legislation, policy and practice to Community Visiting and Advocacy staff.
Prepare complex strategic documents, briefings, correspondence and other policy documents for the Director Community Visiting and Advocacy, in consultation with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
Develop and implement systems and processes to ensure quality services, compliance with legislation and continuous improvement.
Develop performance measurement and quality benchmarking systems to monitor and evaluate the practices of community visitors to ensure achievement of the goals of OPG.
