Hatchery Supervisor

APG Workforce are currently seeking a **Hatchery Supervisor** based in Kewdale, WA.

**The Role**:
Reporting to the Hatchery Manager, the position would suit someone with strong communication, work ethic and organisational skills who is able to work on their own, use initiative as well as motivating a team.

The successful applicant will hopefully have a knowledge of or be prepared to work towards the following:

- Poultry livestock industry with particular reference to hatchery processes
- Detailed knowledge of hatchery or animal husbandry operations
- Good management skills particularly developing and motivating a team
- Ability to achieve production targets
- Good computer skills
- Understand basic mechanics (when on call a check on all machines is required to be performed on Saturday)
- Working within budgets to manage costs and cost reporting on a weekly basis
- Knowledge of Animal Welfare and Biosecurity
- Knowledge of workplace Health and Safety System (WHS).

**Important to note**:

- The job role also covers being part of a call out roster and rotation system where calls can be 24/7 and a rotation system for Public Holidays, as all are worked except for Christmas Day.
- Start time around 6.30am, can finish between 3.30pm / 4pm
- Call out will be on a 3 week roster so every 3rd week on call. Calls can be anytime day or night or early morning
- The call week runs from Midnight Sunday night to midnight the following Sunday night (7 days).
- When on call there is a requirement to do a check of all machines in hatchery on Saturday generally AM.
- Potential increase in salary after trial period
- A current driver's license is essential.
