Nursery Assistant

One of our clients, a local council within the Doncaster area, is looking for a Nursery Assistant to join their passionate team.

This Job is a casual role; however, it will be for 38 hours per week and could lead onto gaining a full-time contract.

Your shift will start at 7.15am - 4.10pm

Pay Rate: $35 Per Hour + Superannuation.

The purpose of the role is to provide quality nursery services to the Parks department’s internal and external customers in accordance with organisational goals, objectives, customer service undertakings and service unit standards.

**You will Need**:
Tertiary qualification in Horticultural, Parks and Gardens, Nursery or similar equivalent.

Demonstrated experience working in a production nursery and general horticultural knowledge.

Experience in nursery practices including propagation, plant identification and general horticultural maintenance.

**You will be**:
Undertaking seed propagation for annual plant a tree stock requirement.

Assisting the Nursery Officer with the annual plant production program from seed, cuttings and division, planning, seed collection, irrigation management, and pest/disease control.

Assisting with general site maintenance of nursery grounds, plant management, plant orders and dispatch, irrigation and filtration maintenance, and compliance with appropriate nursery accreditation protocols.

Assisting with maintaining the nursery, glasshouses and surrounds in a clean and tidy condition.

Identifying and reporting potential hazards in the nursery and assisting in repairing and making safe.

Please Note - a Police Check, WWCC and Covid Vaccination status will all need to be obtained upon placement.
