QBuild is a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government. It has been Queensland Government's builder for over 160 years, playing an important role in communities across the state by building and maintaining government-owned assets such as schools, social housing, police stations and correctional and health facilities.
About the role
Join QBuild in a pivotal role that supports our mission to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by delivering an exceptional learning and development program. We are looking for an innovative, results-driven Principal Program Manager to lead the design, creation and implementation of learning and development programs that enhance our employees' skills and capabilities.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with leadership and teams across Queensland to identify learning needs, develop impactful solutions for our diverse construction workforce, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. **Duties and skills involved**:
- Lead the development, implementation and management of strategies for QBuild's Learning and Development program.
- Implement a methodology for capturing, delivering and reporting, with a focus on customer satisfaction, as well as quality, value for money outcomes and effective resource management.
- Provide timely and effective high-level advice to ensure the desired outcomes of the program are achieved.
- Lead a team centred on supporting regions and other business areas to meet their learning and development goals within allocated resources.
- Analyse, interpret and report on financial related data on the program including monitoring and reporting on anomalies and adjust forecasting accordingly.
- Lead the execution of the program's success through engagement with the relevant business areas and industry stakeholders.
- Ensure high level liaison, consultation and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders relating to learning and development programs and initiatives.
**Preferred skills and experience**:
- Experience in building and implementing department-wide learning initiatives, particularly in early-stage or rapidly evolving teams, to drive alignment and advance organisational maturity.
- Proven experience in leading and managing teams and individuals within a learning and development context.
- Experience in needs analysis, curriculum development, and utilising diverse delivery methods (e-learning, instructor-led, and blended formats), with a strong ability to assess and refine programs based on feedback and performance metrics.
- Travel may be required to support learning and development activities across SEQ and regional locations.
