About the Role
The Department of Women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships and Multiculturalism seeks a Director of Internal Audit. This role provides strategic leadership of an effective and contemporary internal audit function, aimed at improving departmental systems and operations. You will be instrumental in delivering timely outcomes from internal audits and providing independent advice to enhance organisational governance.
**What You'll Be Doing**:

- Managing and directing internal audit activities, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of departmental operations
- Developing and coordinating annual internal audit plans that are risk-based and focused on key departmental priorities
- Providing timely, independent advice to the Director-General and senior management on departmental operations
- Fostering strong working relationships within the department and with external stakeholders to promote internal audit functions and products

**Your Talents**:

- Experience in a similar role within corporate or government settings, with extensive auditing experience
- Demonstrated leadership capability, including leading small teams (including co-resourced resources) through change
- Strong strategic planning and governance skills
- Relevant professional qualifications and memberships as required by financial regulations
