**Position Information**:
The Ponds High School, located in the suburb of The Ponds in the north-west of Sydney is a 7-12 comprehensive high school that has over 2,100 students in Years 7-12. Fifty-three per cent of these students come from a non-English speaking background and 0.4 % identify as ATSI. The school shares a site with Riverbank Public school and is a part of an innovative and energetic community approach to teaching and learning. The school has developed outstanding teaching and learning programs including; a strong welfare approach to student wellbeing, a culturally inclusive program and support for the creative and performing arts. The school has two support classes, a HP&GE class in each year and has an active BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program using the learning platform Canvas. The Stage 5 and 6 elective structure provides extensive choice for students including specialty Mathematics electives. Current whole school learning and teaching priorities include; using CANVAS for effective learning and a Teams structure to support SIP priorities including; Assessment, Choice Theory, Literacy, Numeracy, Aboriginal Education, HP&GE, EAL/D and School Culture. This is an ASIP position in learning and support. It is negotiable whether this is in the support unit as a class teacher or working with the mainstream learning and support team. TPHS has created a school funded class in response to pressure for places at a regional level.

**Selection Criteria**:
Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (secondary) and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs (secondary) in regular classes. Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers.

Ability to differentiate learning for students with special needs and a wide range of abilities.

Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working collaboratively with faculty members, families and SLSO’s on curriculum, assessment, monitoring and reporting.

Experience effectively maintaining a positive classroom environment for all students regardless of ability.

Experience using data to develop plans and monitor growth towards individual student goals.
