Quality / Technical Co-ordinator

**Primary Purpose**
- Help manage the day-to-day running of the Food Safety and Quality Management Systems within the Quality Team.
- Ensure that the company has the systems and processes in place necessary to ensure all products sent out meet legislative and customer requirements - this includes both at the farm level but also in the Packing Shed and High Care Facility.
- Alert the Technical Director and company Board of Directors of any significant risk affecting food safety or quality.
- Provide the company with technical support wherever necessary.
- Substitute SQF Practitioner.
- Responsible to oversee the Technical Director’s activities, as required, in their absence.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Ensure requirements of the food safety and quality management systems and customer requirements are documented, implemented, and maintained.
- Ensure the company is informed of any changes to relevant legislation, food safety and quality standards and developments within the industry and update the Quality Management System (QMS) accordingly.
- Drive a food safety and quality culture leading by example.
- Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance to the QMS.
- Prepare the company and undertake external 3rd party audits as required.
- Conduct supplier audits where necessary.
- Establish and implement training programs to cover off functions that affect product legality, food safety and quality and inform staff of their responsibility to report food safety and quality issues to senior staff.
- Maintain the Approved Supplier Program.
- Maintain the SDS database and register.
- Assist in product development activities including new product launches.
- Support the Production Manager by providing technical training to employees as requested.
- Lead the investigation into non-conformances and customer complaints, conducting the root cause analysis and ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.
- Member of the HACCP and Recall Teams.
- Initiate and drive continuous improvement activities.
- Assist in workplace inspections as required and engage employees in hazard identification and reporting.
- Support OH&S initiatives and the company’s core values.
- Report any potential risks or hazards to the Technical Director.
- Ensure work carried out is within OH&S and Hygiene requirements.
**Qualifications & Experience**
- Tertiary qualification in Food Science or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years experience in a QA or similar role in the food manufacturing industry.
- Experience in internal, external and supplier audits
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office product is required.
