Our Company

Mackellar is the mining services contractor for Bravus’ Carmichael Mine and together we are creating jobs and opportunities for regional Queensland.

We have a new opportunity for an experienced Safety Coordinator to play an integral role in ensuring continuous site safety for our large scale mining operations.

**About the role**

These roles are critical to our success on this project and will work in conjunction with supervisors and managers to ensure an excellent safety record is maintained through instilling a strong safety culture and open communication on site. Responsibilities of this role include:

- Oversee and recommend safety training to ensure safe operation and compliance
- Prepare training material related to safety issues that can be presented by supervisors at toolbox meetings
- Assist supervisors to deliver safety initiatives and toolbox talks
- Provide technical safety support and ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and legislative requirements
- Complying with a HSE management system
- Assist with the development, review and improvement of the health & safety management system and work procedures
- Assisting in the close out of corrective actions from inspections, audits and investigations are implemented
- Developing and implementing site-specific safety strategies and initiatives.

**You will need**
- Prior experience as a Safety Coordinator in mining/heavy industry
- Cert IV in Workplace Health & Safety
- Current Standard 11 and S123 & G2 (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Queensland driver licence.
