**About the role**
VIA Care is a growing provider of NDIS support services. We are currently recruiting for a staffing team to provide at home care and community access for an NDIS participant.
Staff will be offered regular 8-hour shifts to provide care for an NDIS participant.
You will be a member of a cross disciplinary team comprising members experienced with disability, mental health, intellectual disability, acquired brain injury (ABI) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) supports.
In addition, staff will have the opportunity to work with a range of other participants who VIA Care support in both community and home-based settings.
**About the participant**
- The participant is seeking someone who has experience working with people with mental health issues, psychosocial disorder such as schizophrenia, BPD and anxiety.
- The participant is located in Richmond, Victoria.
**What we offer**
We can provide full 8-hour shifts (8am-4pm) available across the week and generous pay rates of $31.61 per hour for standard weekday day shifts. Weekend rates are $43.96 per hour for Saturday and $56.52 per hour on Sundays.
VIA Care is also keen to invest in staff and provide mentoring and professional development for committed staff members looking to build a career in disability services
**Required skills and experience**
- Qualifications or experience in disability, nursing, AoD, community services, mental health, Intellectual Disability, Acquired Brain Injury, ASD.
- Communication skills with assisting people with communication challenges and people who are non-verbal.
- Have a genuine respect for people with disability and a commitment to providing them dignified and personalised care
- Ability to present with confidence as a professional which engenders trust from participants who rely on you to meet their support needs
- Ability and willingness to identify client needs and additional opportunities to assist them achieve their goals within the way you work with them
- Ability to create a friendly rapport with participants to allow them to feel comfortable and respected
- Excellent documentation practice
- Display a relationship centred approach to care and understanding of or willingness to learn about other methods of care (e.g., trauma informed, family centred)
- Ability and confidence to work autonomously and contribute to a support plan which is being implemented by a team of staff around a participant
- Current police check and NDIS worker screening check
- Fully vaccinated against Covid-19
- Valid drivers license and access to a car.
