**Donvale Christian College**:
Donvale Christian College is located in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne having opened in 1975. The current enrolment is over 1500 students from Prep to Year 12 and the total number of employees is approximately 300.

Donvale Christian College is governed, as provided for in its Constitution, by the College Board. The Board are elected by the members of the College. The full range of Christian denominations is represented in the parent body of the College. There is no position on the Board elected or appointed by any single church community. The Board is totally elected by the membership of Donvale Christian College Ltd. The Executive Principal is appointed by the Board and together they appoint staff.

Staff members are expected to actively support the Christian aims of the College. Membership of a Bible based worship community is one of the criteria that has to be satisfied to successfully gain employment.

**Role**

The ICT Manager is a key leadership position. Under the direction of the Business Manager, the ICT Manager is responsible for the strategic, operational and financial management of all aspects of information and communication technology at the College.

The core business of Donvale Christian College is to be a biblically directed learning community. Everyone and everything in our community serves this purpose. Each person in the College community has been gifted by God to make his or her contribution to the learning and teaching for which God has brought the College into being.

**College Requirements**

All staff are expected to:

- Perform their responsibilities in a manner which reflects the College’s mission, objectives and philosophy. In particular, staff are expected to role model an active Christian faith that will be demonstrated in part by an active involvement in the wider Christian Church.
- Be Christian role models and examples to all people associated with the College.
- Participate in leading College devotions that involve staff and students and attendance at the staff retreat.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**

**Strategic**
- Participate in the development and implementation of the teaching and learning components of the ICT Plan under the direction of the Director of Teaching and Learning.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the College’s Business Systems under the direction of the Business Manager.
- Working with key staff, keep abreast of emerging technologies and proactively test and recommend new ICT technologies for the purpose of supporting teaching and learning and the business operations of the College.
- Develop ICT policy and practices to support the College’s Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy and Privacy Policy.

**Management**
- Manage all areas of the College’s ICT environment.
- Possess an understanding of all school ICT products and systems for the purpose of management and advice.
- Mentor, support, develop and manage the ICT team.
- Develop policies, processes and practices for the ICT department and environment.
- Ensure the ICT team maintain relevant documentation and record keeping.

**Service Desk**
- Ensure a customer service focus for the ICT department.
- Approve and oversee all ICT changes within the College.
- Coordinate and approve professional development.
- Be the escalation and management point for the ICT team.
- Actively manage critical issues or outages outside of standard hours of operation.

**Communication**
- Perform the role of liaison and technical representative of the College, for the support of teaching and learning strategies and the wider College community.
- Communicate and collaborate with senior leadership and other departments to ensure ICT services and systems are efficient and support learning and business outcomes.
- Vendor/3rd party management for purchasing, support, security, repairs and licensing.
- Provide reports to the Business Manager as required.

**Financial**
- Develop and manage the ICT budget under the direction of the Business Manager.
- Provide strategic advice and planning for ICT expenditure.
- Maintain records of all ICT expenditure.
- Develop business cases for the Business Manager to justify ICT expenditure.
