**The Role**
Ventia are seeking to engage an experienced Groundsperson to support our team on our **Defence Base Services contract**. This role will see you effectively maintain a wide variety of built and natural Parks assets including streetscapes, training grounds, verges, playgrounds, sporting, and recreational grounds. This is a full-time permanent position mainly based at Irwin Barracks, Karrakatta. With the opportunity to work at different sites in the metro area with transport provided.

**Duties / Responsibilities (but not limited to)**
- Mowing/slashing of Turf areas, verges, and firebreaks
- Weed Control/Herbicide use
- Reticulation operation and minor repairs
- Garden Maintenance (mulching, pruning, hedging, weeding etc.)
- Use of plant & equipment such as ride on and push mowers, brush cutters, blowers, edger’s, hedgers, spraying equipment etc.
- General labouring around the grounds

**Requirements**:

- Must be an AUS Citizen
- Live local to WA
- WA Driver’s License - Must be ‘C’ class
- Experience in the industry / similar role dealing with parks & gardens or landscaping
- Horticulture or Conservation & Land Management Certificates - Not essential but highly regarded
- Chemical and Chainsaw Certificates - Not essential but highly regarded
- Must be able to complete & pass Pre-employment Medical with a Drug & Alcohol screen
