Design Assistant- Boyswear Country Road

The Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Design Assistant to join the Childrenswear Design Team Reporting to the Designer - Boyswear, you will be assisting with administrative support, research, forecasting and creative development of the Boyswear range. Your role will also involve coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective and successful execution of the Country Road product.
**Please note this a 18 month fixed term contract**
Key Responsibilities
- To set up and maintain our linesheets based on option plan - including loading all PLM info, sketches, fabric codes and price tickets.
- To assist Designer in preparing and maintaining design boards
- To assist Design Manager / Designer in set up in presentation of ranges
- Assist in research through searching the internet, magazines and WGSN
- Responsible for scaling and preparation of artwork
- Push all styles to Retek upon request by production team
- Order marketing samples in PLM every month & communicate with vendors
- Ensure all marketing samples are delivered to sample room on time
- Keep the marketing & E-Commerce team informed of expected dates when necessary
- Writing garment details descriptions for web copy
- Assist the childrenswear team with any general administration duties
- To assist with filing, sorting, tidying and creating a highly organised work environment
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Fashion or Textiles
- Experience with Illustrator software (sketching)
- Understanding of garment making / construction
- Computer literate with intermediate skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships.
- Team player with excellent attention to detail
- Exceptional organisational skills and deadline driven
- Able to interpret Design direction
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and work towards strict deadlines
