Our Federal Government client is seeking a qualified
**Scientific Evaluator **to ensure standards of quality, safety and efficacy are met through evaluation.

**Overview of the branch**:
The Branch is responsible for the regulation of non-prescription medicines including traditional and herbal medicines, vitamin and mineral supplements, and over-the-counter registered medicines that are supplied in Australia. The Branch’s activities assure that these medicines meet standards of quality, safety and efficacy commensurate with their level of risk.

**About the role**:

- Evaluate and make recommendations regarding the quality of listed medicines or registered complementary medicines
- Undertake complex research and analysis to prepare high quality technical and scientific recommendations, reports and documents
- Implement individual work plans, including setting tasks and priorities, managing workflows and taking responsibility for the achievement of key performance indicators or outcomes
- Liaising, engaging, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders as required

**Ideally, you will have**:

- A relevant qualification in chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmaceutical quality, biotechnology or any other relevant discipline from an Australian tertiary institution or comparable overseas qualification

**Desirable, but not essential**:

- Experience in scientific evaluation of quality of medicines
- Knowledge of and experience in the regulation of this field
