**Life With Us**:

- The Hospital Outreach Post suicidal Engagement Team (HOPE) team is a multidisciplinary team including clinical and non-clinical staff (psychosocial support and lived experience).
- We provide brief enhanced support and assertive outreach to people leaving our emergency department and inpatient units following treatment for suicidal ideation and/or a suicide attempt.
- We provide a service to people who live in the Morleand and Hume LGA's for up to a 12 week period.

**Your New Role**:
The HOPE peer support worker will be part of a small team who are passionate about providing post suicidal engagement to individuals who have had a recent presentation to the emergency department as well as their families and carers
- Empower consumers to make their own choices about their treatment and recovery with an emphasis on strengthening their internal resources to move forward.
- Reach out to consumers who have attended the service for assessment and may benefit from peer support.
- Assist consumers by ensuring they actively participate in their own identified recovery goals
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary clinical team

**About You**:

- Lived experience of mental health difficulties is an essential prerequisite
- Be a confident team player with a desire to share your wisdom, knowledge and experience
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of how mental health services work and have good knowledge of peer support frameworks
- Demonstrate compassion and resilience, providing peer support and information to mental health consumers
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Be a positive role model
