**Position Information**:
Hayes Park Public School serves a growing community in suburban Dapto on the western foreshores of Lake Illawarra. The school's enrolment has been steadily increasing and is now at around 603 students, which is up from 588 in 2021. Our students are placed in 26 mainstream classes, and an Autism/IO support class. Our students reflect a changing demographic with 9% coming from an NESB and 10% identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.

Through external validation and a comprehensive situational analysis, the school has identified focus areas in embedding a learning culture of high expectations and the use of data to identify the learning needs of students in reading and numeracy, the development and delivery of high impact professional learning, and the development of strong professional learning communities that operate with a collective purpose and goal to enhance the positive, holistic school culture to improve learning, leadership, engagement and wellbeing.

The school leadership team prides itself in delivering excellent outcomes in all areas of student learning. This new role will join the principal. deputy principal and four Assistant Principal positions including an AP C&I roles in leading the school.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary.

Specific focus on ES1 and stage 1 curriculum and wellbeing.

Demonstrated capacity to develop others with a strong team ethos.

Experience in working with Learning Support Team to meet the special needs of individual students.

The successful applicant must have willingness and/or experience in managing transition and orientation programs with a demonstrated ability to work confidently with community.

Ability and experience to lead whole school events and programs. The role has a high level of visibility in the school and therefore the successful applicant will need to demonstrate a high level of organisation and communication skills.

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
