**About the position**

A rewarding opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic Handyman at premier boutique resort in beautiful Port Stephens, The Anchorage Hotel & Spa. This critical position will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the resort including preventative works, cost control and contractor liaison. As the successful applicant you will be responsible for the day to day upkeep of the property in addition to:

- General maintenance duties including but limited to painting, basic plumbing repairs, lock repairs, minor plastering and gyprocking, carpet repairs, basic carpentry and - joinery, tiling repairs, change light globes, and maintain ventilation systems.- Liaise with on site contractors to ensure work is completed to scope and a satisfactory standard.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, including the immediate reporting of any work place hazards.
- Attend to emergency call outs to the property as required.
- All other duties as directed within the skill and competencies of the incumbent.
- Maintain a high standard of presentation and grooming at all times whilst at work.
- Perform all tasks in a safe manner in accordance with relevant Safe Operating Procedures.

This role requires availability over weekends.

**Certifications required**: Current driver’s licence

**About you**

To be a success in this opportunity, you will have demonstrated experience in a similar role completing general maintenance activities to a high standard, knowledge and understanding of preventative maintenance programs, professionalism, time management and organization skills. Experience within a 5 start hotel or resort environment would be highly regarded.
