We have an exciting full time opportunity for a skilled Fabrication Supervisor looking to join a unique and creative custom engineering company. This is a perfect opportunity for a qualified Boilermaker who is looking to take their next step in a challenging but rewarding direction.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and building projects out of the ordinary. To be successful in this role you will have an eye for detail and be able to identify the best way to approach each project taking into account the right way to go about the process as a whole regardless of difficulty.
**Responsibilities**:
- Ability to problem solve and identify the best outcome - Each project is custom and offering a unique set of challenges each time.
- Lead and supervise a team of fabrication technicians, ensuring efficient and high-quality production.
- Strong leadership skills, with ability to manage the teams workload/schedule work.
- Good technical skills to plan custom 1 off project.
- Coordinate fabrication activities, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation, to meet project deadlines.
- Lead a team of boiler makers, metal finishers and trade assistants.
- Promote a harmonious environment to foster a positive team culture.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimise fabrication techniques and improve production efficiency.
- Train and mentor new fabrication technicians, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Interview and weld test boilermakers and hold daily tool box meetings
**Requirements**:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience within a similar supervisor position.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- In-depth knowledge of fabrication techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Have high quality fabrication skills with mild steel, stainless and aluminium (bronze, brass and copper experience would be an advantage but not essential).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Ability to work to a tight deadline and do overtime when needed.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
