**About the business unit**

Sheriffs Operations North Metro (North Sheriffs) have a vacancy for a Sergeant to assist with the ongoing management of a team of Sheriffs and Senior Sheriffs.

As this office continues to expand through recruiting, this role will be a critical part of the North Sheriffs Management Team and will be responsible for building officer skills and developing a productive and supportive culture.

**About the role**

The Sergeant is a region-wide resource, providing senior, strategic support focusing on the achievement of performance targets. This is achieved by: contribution to divisional operational and service delivery; planning; managing a caseload; supervising assigned operations, complex cases, and work projects; and participation in the review and improvement of operational procedures and processes.

The Sergeant manages a team of Sheriff's officers and Senior Sheriff's officers, overseeing the effective and efficient actioning of warrants to ensure the achievement of the clearance of warrants and undertaking more sensitive, complex, and higher risk warrant actioning and field duties. The Sergeant is responsible for Sheriffs officers' and Senior Sheriff officers' formal supervision, performance management and mentoring. Additionally, in conjunction with the Regional Manager, the Sergeant plans and oversees field operations, including actioning targeted responses and coordinating joint activities with other agencies.

The Sergeant position is a uniformed role and requires the incumbent to work on a rostered work pattern.

**About you**
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in Sheriff's Operations.
- Must be deemed competent in enforcing all warrant types.
- Demonstrated experience as a Workplace Trainer & Assessor (desirable).
