**Position Information**:
Bardia Public School is a unique K-6 school, situated in South West Sydney. We are a growing school with an enrolment of 1000 students. The school has a positive school culture underpinned by three core values, achievement, belonging and care.

Bardia Public School has a Support Unit for students with additional needs. There are two Autism and two Autism IO classes. 72% of our students have a language background other than English and 3% identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

We deeply value collaboration. Staff are given job-embedded time to engage with the pedagogies of our syllabi. Together, teams work alongside our APC&Is to develop quality teaching and learning cycles for our students. This is supported by personalised professional learning for all staff members.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Approval to teach special education and/or experience in successfully leading support unit staff to deliver high-quality individualised supports, learning plans, and strategies that meet students’ needs.
- Evidence of a highly visible, approachable and collaborative leader with a proven ability to build and maintain relationships and partnerships with students, families, wider community and the team around students.
- Demonstrated capacity and capability to lead school initiatives promoting student wellbeing and development creating a safe and inclusive school environment.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
