Director (Environmental Service Operations)

The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Director (Environmental Service Operations) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
The position manages and provides direct oversight to a large workforce of over 800 staff while supporting leadership teams through the provision of optimal service delivery of cleaning, patient and equipment transfer/porterage, operating theatre support, waste management, asset coordination, logistics and contract management across 10 healthcare sites.
You will
- Demonstrate dynamic, experienced leadership relevant to a large workforce in a healthcare setting
- Set examples and foster a climate of high performance and service outcomes through collaboration
- Act as the key contact for existing and new service provision providing detailed expenditure estimates to ensure all facets of the business requirements are met to facilitate clinical service provision
- Utilise proven business/financial acumen and contract administration experience to manage departmental financial resources
- Manage the administration of logistics and external vendor arrangements relevant to the department

About you

**To be successful in this position you will require**:

- Extensive experience in a high-level leadership role
- Business Management qualification or relevant field (not mandatory)
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Hepatitis B and COVID 19
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $140 874 - $149 064 per annum

About Us
Operational Support Services supports the delivery of non-clinical services within GCH facilities. Environmental Service Operations delivers a reactive, general, and periodic cleaning, logistics (movement of linen, waste, equipment and beds), patient handling assistance on wards, theatre patient support/transfer as well as coordination of several waste streams.
The position is based at Southport but is required to travel to and provides service across multiple hospital settings and community facilities however is based at Southport.
