**Description of position**:
Supervises and participates in the daily operations of Deli Departments and its staff. Supports the Deli management team in promoting a high-level of productivity. Coordinates employee lunches and breaks, perform duties from the register system controller, reviews employees, carries out new promotional programs, and addresses member issues. Coordinates and participates in duties of these departments. Implements and upholds proper Food Safety and GMP, sanitation procedures and standards. Provides prompt and courteous customer service.

**Daily tasks and responsibilities**:

- Reviews area sales, schedules and productivity figures. Implements sales and merchandising plan for the Fresh departments.
- Observes employee performance to ensure that best merchandising and sales practices and standards are followed. Makes signs and checks accuracy of product signage and marking.
- Leads, provides training, encouragement, advice and feedback to Fresh employees. Assists in conducting job interviews. Drafts and participates in presentation of employee performance evaluations. Reviews and approves area timecards.
- Communicates with Fresh Managers regarding quantity, status, price, delivery and promotion of merchandise.
- Implements practices to reduce loss due to damaged and destroyed merchandise. Approves product for member returns, oversees organization of security item lock-up.
- Participates in Fresh moves. Reviews lists of items for forklift drivers to place in the cool rooms for stocking. Stocks merchandise and drives forklift. Cleans and maintains product displays. Implements and upholds safety and security procedures.
- Maintains current knowledge of technology and trends of Fresh area product. Provides and ensures prompt and courteous member service. Answers member questions and demonstrates product. Assists member in loading product to cart.
- This position entails either AM work or PM work.
- Develops, coaches, counsels, and directs Fresh personnel. Provides feedback to promote teamwork and accountability among employees. Interactively monitors Fresh employee performance and participates in performance reviews as needed. Implements and upholds proper Fresh and general safety and sanitation procedures and standards
- Completes, complies and enforces Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) guidelines as it refers to proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required by this position. Completes and complies with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification, and all safety training required by warehouse and Fresh departments.
- Calculates weekly and monthly totals of sales, expenses, and report to upper management. Compiles various reports. Fills in for All Fresh Manager’s when necessary.
- Participates in restocking ingredients and supplies, food preparation, selling goods, and cleaning up.

**Non-Essential Functions and Tasks**:

- Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
