Hawthorn East, Australia Respite Now Full time

The successful applicant will become an integral member of our care team. Immediately, we are looking for a female support worker who is confident supporting our male client in a public swimming pool. Our client lives with a physical disability and uses a wheelchair for mobility.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in disability care
- Experience working with a wide variety of NDIS participants
- Experienced with wheelchairs and hoists
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, Community Services or related fields
- NDIS Worker Screening
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred)
- Australian Drivers Licence and use of your own car
- Flexibility to work varied hours - a routine roster will be prepared to meet our clients and our staff needs

**Work Locations**:

- Our office and activity centre is in Hawthorn East.
- This particular client (NDIS participant) attends Box Hill Aquarena every fortnight

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Read and understand the client support plan and engage with the office care team to learn about each client, before providing care services
- Facilitate daily living tasks and accessing the community, implement care strategies to encourage each client to be as independent as possible
- Carry our risk
- assessments and complete incident reports where appropriate
- Support our client to participate in enjoyable activities and stay connected to friends, family and others in their community

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $33.00 - $38.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 30 per week
