About the Role
The role of a state school Youth Support Coordinator (YSC) is to provide support to at-risk students to remain engaged with their education to enhance their opportunities for further education and sustainable future employment.
As the Youth Support Coordinator, you will have responsibility for the following:
- Refer at risk students to appropriate agencies and support services that will assist students to overcome barriers to education and training.
- Provide individual support, case management and, where appropriate, group support to students to maximise their engagement with education and training.
- Facilitate student wellbeing and social skills programs to build capacity of students.
- Identify barriers to young people achieving outcomes, triage and refer to appropriate support services.
- Case management, community outreach, events and group work.

About You
**Highly desirable skills and experience**:
- Experience in case management supporting young people facing complexities impacting their education such as homelessness, mental health issues, substance misuse, family complexities etc.
- Ability to triage and refer students to appropriate support services (internal and external agencies).
- Experience in monitoring attendance patterns of students or groups of students and implementing early intervention strategies.
- Accreditation and experience (or willingness to be trained) in facilitating small group support programs to build student capacity in social emotional and social skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within the student services team while ensuring sensitively and confidentiality.
- Be reliable, motivated and show initiative with well-developed organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently and problem-solve using established procedures.
