We are seeking a passionate Ministry Worker to work with the Corps Officers of Sydney Inner West Corps to carry out God’s mission within the church and the surrounding region. You will engage with other TSA services, local community agencies and schools for the purpose of creating faith pathways and building relationships with children, young people and their families.
This is a permanent part-time role, 30.4 hours per week.
You will successfully
- Participate in the life and ministry of Sydney Inner West Corps and respond pastorally and appropriately to situations that may arise
- Coordinate and train others to lead children’s and young people’s programs
- Find ways to integrate ministry and mission across all generations for the purpose of intergenerational relationship building
- Identify and respond to the pastoral and spiritual needs of those in Sydney Inner West Corps and the surrounding region
- Oversee, manage and pastorally support a growing team of volunteers
You will have
- A strong commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army and willingness to be involved in the Corps
- Solid understanding of The Salvation Army’s doctrines and principles
- An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian Gospel
- Outstanding presentation and communication skills (both oral and written) to be able to interact, network and build positive relationships with a variety of people
- Tertiary or other qualifications in theology, mission, teaching, psychology, social work, youth work or community services (Certificate IV level) is desirable
- A current Working with Children Check
- A current NSW driver’s license
- A willingness to undergo a National Police Check
