We are seeking an experienced Group Manager who provides and manages all specialist and professional internal audit services for our client within the energy sector and its subsidiaries, along with proactive assurance and advice to the Board, Audit and Risk Management Committee, Chief Executive Officer, and the Executive Leadership team on the performance of our clients systems and risk management controls.

**Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to**:

- Responsible for the independent and objective leadership, strategy and direction of our clients audit and advisory services.
- Delivery of an effective and efficient, risk-based audit and advisory service that strengthens the performance of systems and risk management controls, consistency with best practice.
- Effective working relationships and open communications with the Board, CEO, ELT, management, and the financial services panel.
- Ensuring compliance with Australian Auditing Standards.
- Developing and maintaining current strategies and annual plans that align with stakeholder expectations for all audit and advisory services.

**Requirements for the role**:

- Minimum five (5) years previous audit experience at a senior / executive level within a large assurance and advisory practice or function.
- Must have experience working in a co-sourced model and creating partnerships with external stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge in the field of auditing, risk management and compliance with the ability to quickly adopt to new methodologies and industry best practice in electricity and heavy mining industries.
- Effective analysis and interpretation of a broad range of laws and regulations in relation to the operation of an energy utility business including corporations and energy trading laws and regulations.
- A professional qualification including IIA/CIA/CA/CPA (or equivalent).
