Saddler / Leather Worker

**About Us**

Dolans is an Australian owned company and was established in 1978. Over the past 40 years, Dolans has established a name for excellence in workmanship and service through the production of authentic Australian Made Stock Saddles, saddlery tack, gear bags and leather belts.

We are currently looking for a Saddler/Leather Worker to join our team in manufacturing.

This is a casual position, with the opportunity of advancing to a full-time position in the future. Hours are negotiable and flexible.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Working collaboratively within the team
- Ensuring products are made to correct specifications
- Understands and follows all safe work procedures
- Maintain a clean working environment
- Have an excellent eye for detail with a focus on quality
- Reports all equipment issues to the supervisor or manager in a timely manner
- General housekeeping duties
- Sewing leather and other materials using industrial sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques
- Measuring and cutting leather and other materials to create and amend patterns and designs

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Experience in a production/manufacturing environment preferred but not essential
- Previous leather sewing experience desirable
- Experience in saddle making an advantage but not a must
- Knowledge of leather working and other materials such as canvas
- Great attention to detail with a strong work ethic
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with a small team
- Have ability to take direction
- Be a dedicated worker and punctual
- Fluent written and verbal English skills critical
