Location: Cottermouth (Stromlo) & various venues across Canberra

Employment Type: Casual (with potential for permanent part-time or full-time employment)

Are you an experienced cleaner looking for a role with stability, variety, and future growth opportunities? Scouts ACT is seeking a dedicated and reliable Cleaner to join our team. Based at Cottermouth in Stromlo, this role also extends to the cleaning of Scout Halls and other venues across Canberra.

Key Responsibilities:

- Clean and maintain group accommodation, camping and activities facilities at Cottermouth, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
- Perform routine and deep cleaning of Scout Halls and other Scout venues across Canberra.
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas, amenities, accommodation spaces, and activity zones.
- Restock cleaning supplies and report maintenance issues as required.
- Safely use cleaning equipment and chemicals following health and safety guidelines.
- Occasionally assist with basic maintenance tasks related to facility upkeep.

What We’re Looking For:

- Previous commercial or industrial cleaning experience (essential).
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision while maintaining high cleaning standards.
- Physically fit and capable of handling manual tasks, including lifting and moving equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing a high standard of cleanliness.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends as required.
- A valid driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle (essential).
- A Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration or willingness to obtain one.

Desirable:

- Experience cleaning large venues or outdoor facilities.
- Team leader or supervisory experience highly regarded.
- An interest in working within a community-focused organisation.

Pay: $23.23 - $40.25 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
