Southern Cross Care (Qld) is a rapidly growing and developing, highly respected not-for-profit organisation, which provides Residential Aged Care, Community Care and Retirement Living services across Queensland.

We are currently looking for someone to join at team at Edens Landing Retirement Village in the role of
**Maintenance Person/ Gardener.**

In this crucial role - you will carry out garden and maintenance work, as well as cleaning duties in communal areas, in alignment with the preventative maintenance program.

**Some key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Tasks include sharing cleaning duties at the village Community Centre and providing support to Assistant Maintenance Officer with management of the grounds.
- Ensuring garden beds are maintained and kept tidy throughout the seasons
- Pruning of trees and hedges
- Mowing lawns and keeping grass fertilised and free from weeds
- Ensuring paths and drains are kept free from debris
- Regular servicing and maintenance of machinery/equipment
- General daily cleaning duties in line with schedule and regulations
- Carrying out work in accordance with Health and Safety requirements

**To succeed in this role you will need**:

- Previous experience and knowledge in general and commercial maintenance and gardening
- A current Police or NDIS Check
- Exceptional people and interpersonal skills
- Well developed written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively
- Up to date status of COVID 19 and flu vaccinations
