Broadsheet - Editorial
Broadsheet Media is looking for an affiliate editor to join our national editorial team, overseeing affiliate content and strategy. The role can be based in Melbourne or Sydney.
- Flexible working-from-home arrangements
- Training and career development
- To be a part of an ambitious, passionate and talented team
About the Role:
The Affiliate editor will report to Broadsheet’s publications director and work closely with the editorial director and strategy and solutions director to ensure Broadsheet delivers on its promise to be the best shopping resource in Australia, with engaging and insightful content that is high utility, carefully curated and timely, and which our readers can trust.
The Affiliate editor ensures smooth day-to-day running of affiliate content across Broadsheet’s platforms and channels, including newsletters.
This is a hands-on production role, involving the ideation, planning, commissioning, editing, writing and publication of content. You will produce content proactively but also in reaction to trends and the news cycle. It is also one for someone good at lateral thinking, with a creative mind, who is obsessed with finding the perfect white shirt or wide leg jeans, the most stylish shoes for a summer wedding or the perfect gift to take to that wedding, the most stylish bedside table and softest linen sheets.
You will manage contributors, including writers and photographers, and provide ongoing guidance to progress their research, pitching, writing and reporting skills. You will be someone who enjoys the technical side of driving more readers to a piece of content, including identify key search phrases and optimising articles to rank better on Google.
We're looking for someone with experience in similar editing roles, ideally working in a fast-paced, high-output digital newsroom environment. But it may also be an ideal role progression for an experienced journalist or writer with a keen understanding of digital audiences, who is keen to progress into an editing role.
Knowledge of Broadsheet and the culture and cities it covers will be an advantage, as will a familiarity with the ways in which a publication can be repackaged socially with speed, clarity, and wit. We are looking for a team player, and someone who is agile, efficient and has a “yes” mentality.
