**About the opportunity**

Blacktown Animal Rehoming Centre (BARC) is looking for a Labourer to join our dynamic and supportive team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a great opportunity to work in a rewarding environment where your contribution truly makes a difference. You will play a key role in maintaining the grounds of BARC and assist with general maintenance of the animal shelter.

You will:

- Ensure the BARC grounds and premises are maintained to accepted standard
- Operate and maintain minor mobile plant.

**Qualifications and experience**

**Essential**:

- A demonstrated high level of experience in handling and working with animals, particularly dogs
- A demonstrated ability to work in a team
- A demonstrated ability to work unsupervised
- A demonstrated ability to operate minor plant.

**Desirable**:

- Appropriate qualifications
- Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations.

**Remuneration and benefits**

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,130.82 per week
- 38-hour working week
- Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
- Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 12% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
